Since I moved to Chicago three and a half years ago, I have been lucky enough to create many items to be used in my portfolio. In my time as a student at Loyola University Chicago, I am very proud of the work that I contributed as a member of a group and in my own individual projects. In addition to these academic projects, there are many individual creative projects that I executed outside of school, such as my “Stay Home” photoshop designs, and my clothing brand GRAVITY.
LOYOLA CLIENT REPORTS
There are two client reports shown in my portfolio. One is a client presentation for Vivid Seats, a well-known ticketing company that partnered with the Loyola Quinlan School of Business for groups of students to create an integrated marketing communications plan. This was a great experience for me as I was able to experience completing an entire marketing plan while also experiencing a real-life client pitch. The other client report shown in my portfolio is a project I did in the first semester of my sophomore year for a company called Jerry’s Hockey. This, too, was great experience for me for the same reasons. Experiencing multiple client pitches in college has given me confidence when presenting information to an audience in my professional life.
PHOTOSHOP DESIGNS
When COVID-19 first began, many brands, companies, and influencers took to social media to tell their followers and customers to stay home.” As I was thinking about my own way to promote staying home, I decided to make faux logos of well-known companies, and change the company/organization name to “Stay Home.” I shared it to my personal social media accounts, and many people reacted positively to the posts, sharing it to their stories.
SENIOR CAPSTONE
For my senior capstone project, I decided to focus on social media marketing habits of major league baseball, specifically the Chicago White Sox. This was another great experience for me, as I was able to virtually meet many members of the communications, marketing, and social media marketing departments at the Chicago White Sox. Overall, my professor and I were both very pleased with the final product of my 12-page research paper and my creative portfolio.
GRAVITY
While I am proud of every creative project I pursued in college, I am most proud of my clothing brand, GRAVITY. Before I released my first collection, I went on a road trip with two of my friends from San Diego to Chicago. Along the way, I took pictures of them in my soon-to-be-released t-shirts, and used those images along with product mock-ups in my store on my website. In addition to those photos, I also included my final project of my photography class from the fall of my junior year. These photos track the process of the Keep Me Warm Tour, from when I ordered the hoodies, to designing them, to passing them out to the homeless population of Chicago.
